  • Santiam May 2023 Red Cheap & Cheerful $81 after your savings of 10%. Pricing is going up across the board. I’m doing my best to find you the best bang for the buck! Feel free to mix them up, we do not mind!

    • 2021 Bodegas Herncia Altés Garntxa Spain, $14 A quite clear Picota cherry red color with violet rim. Intense aromas of red fruits, redcurrants and ripe yet fresh raspberries. Much more serious in the mouth than you’d expect. With pleasant soft tannins, a fresh entry and good length, it offers an enveloping texture and a splendid concentration of fruit. This is a red wine made by Herencia Altés in the D.O. Terra Alta. Although the Terra Alta is not yet a well-known region, it is one of the biggest winegrowing regions in Catalonia. This wine is made 100% with Garnacha Tinta grapes from vineyards in Batea, the town containing over 50% of the D.O.'s vineyards. The soils are rich in clay and limestone, and poor in organic material. The grapes are harvested manually in boxes and ferment at a controlled temperature of 23-24ºC. The maceration lasts for 6 days. The wine is then aged for 4 months in Austrian oak barrels.
    • 2016 Foris Merlot Rogue Valley, Oregon $17 Our 2016 Merlot is a full-bodied aromatic wine with black cherry and plum. It is full bodied with red and black fruit and savory accents of forest floor, cedar, pencil, and leather, wrapped in balanced tannin. It is an elegant interpretation of the type of Bordeaux wines in the Rogue Valley can deliver in great warm vintages. (The Winery)
    • 2021 Masseria Li Veli Passamante Salice Salentino Italy $16 This 100% Negroamaro has red fruits aromas, with light spicy note. Medium-bodied, smooth with soft tannins; well balanced with good acidity and a finish. Pairs well with tomato-based pizza and pasta as well as spicy foods and burgers.
    • 2021 Angeline Cabernet Sauvignon Sonoma County, CA $11 Striking with rich notes of cassis, boysenberry, and blackberry with clove and cacao nib. Not heavy wine, it is a little easier going enjoy with a light meal or sitting on the patio smelling spring in the air.
    • Marietta Cellars OVR #73 Geyserville CA. $18 Tastes like the gutsy field blends popularized by Italian immigrants back in the day, with potent wild berry, licorice and smoky cracked pepper flavors that finish with broad-shouldered tannins. Zinfandel.90 Points Wine Spectator
    • 2021 Villadoria Tardo Barbera D’Alba $14 Ruby red color. Intense nose of red fruits and berries. Fresh and balanced on the palate. A short ageing of four months in wood gives a hint of vanilla nose and velvety taste.

  • Santiam Wine & Bistro May Rose Cheap and Cheerful $78.30 includes 10% discount
    • 2021 La Jolie Fleur Mèditerranée Rosé France $15.
Winemaker’s notes:  A classic Provençal Rosé, Fleur de Mer is a brilliant pale pink color, beautifully balanced with bright fruit notes and crisp acidity. Delicate aromas of fresh watermelon and cherry give way to a complex, refreshing palate. Layers of red berries and subtle citrus are complemented by a softly textured middle and a fine, cleansing, mineral finish.
    • 2021 Chignardiere Gamay Rosé Loire Valley, France $12. Gamay is a naturally crisp and clean taste full of cherry flavor, enjoy this wonderful summer Rose with your favorite Salmon dish or sipping on the patio.
    • 2022 Quady North GSM Rosé Rogue Valley $15.
Sourcing classic rosé varietals from blocks that were specifically planted and grown for Rosé, this vintage is done in a dry, Southern French style. The blend is approximately 48% Grenache, 42% Syrah, 9% Mourvèdre, and 1% Counoise. A bright citrus skin note balances the full fruit flavor. The finish is crisp and refreshing. 91 points Wine Enthusiast
    • 2022 Stoller Family Estate Rosé of Pinot Noir Oregon $15.
Aromas of ground spices, pink cherries, currants, and citrus rind. Medium-bodied and crunchy with tangy acidity and a vivid, citrusy finish. 90 Points James Suckling
    • 2021 Armas Guerra Rosado Mencia Spain $15.
A pale pink color. Lively red berry and orange zest scents are complemented by fresh floral and white pepper flourishes. Juicy and precise, offering bitter red currant and tangerine flavors that deepen and become sweeter on the back half. Taut and nervy on the finish, which hangs on with good spicy persistence. This light, dry Rosé is perfect for light salads, light pasta, and rice dishes, especially with seafood, raw and lightly cooked shellfish and grilled fish and goat's milk cheeses.
    • 2021 Seven Hills Rosé of Cabernet Franc Walla Walla, WA. $15.
This rosé is an appealing pale-peach color. The aromas bring notes of whole green pepper, pea pod, strawberry, and citrus. Dry, lighter styled citrus and pepper flavors follow. Traditionally, this wine starts out a bit green and then settles with additional time in bottle. That will likely hold true here too.
      88 Points Wine Enthusiast

  • Santiam Wine and Bistro May 2023 White Cheap and Cheerful First six wines $76.50
    • 2022 Herència Altés Garnatxa blanca Spain $14 Harvested by hand. Only the first part of the pressed must, the “mosto flor” (free-run juice). Garnatxa Blanca is a fresh, honest, and balanced wine. A splendidly expressive nose offers citrus and fruity aromas as well as Mediterranean herbs. Very fresh in the mouth, with an elegant and lively acidity. Shellfish friendly.
    • 2020 Marisco Vineyards Fernlands Sauvignon New Zealand $14 Quintessentially fresh, focused, and zippy on the nose with aromas of lime juice, leafy hedge row and ripe yellow citrus. The palate builds on themes established by the aromatics delivering bright, zesty citrus based flavors with a long palate neatly framed by mouth-watering acidity.
    • 2020 Angeline Chardonnay Sonoma County, CA. $15
Effortless with fresh notes of apple, pear, and tropical fruit with vanilla spices.
    • 2021 Calvet Muscadet Sevre-Et-Maine Sur Lie $15 Delicate aromas of wet stone and pretty orchard fruit. With great tension, this wine has a mineral core embracing appealing bright citrus and summer fruit salad flavors. A fine Muscadet with a silky texture and a long finish. Enjoy with shellfish!
    • 2021 Louis Jadot Macon Chardonnay, Burgundy $15 Produced in the Mâconnais region of Burgundy, Mâcon-Villages is vinified with no oak contact to retain the elegant aromas and clean, fresh character that this region is prized for. The vineyard soils have a high percentage of chalk and limestone which impart nuanced minerality. This wine shows floral, apple and citrus aromas with fresh, clean flavors and mineral notes. Delicious with Crab Cakes, any shellfish, and Goat Cheese.
    • 2021 Chateau Haut-Rian White Bordeaux, France $12 Critic tasting note: "A crisp and fruity wine with attractive green apple flavors that will fill out with a more creamy character as it matures. The wine is lively with acidity and a zesty aftertaste. Roger Voss" - 88/100, Wine Enthusiast. White Bordeaux blend is a term Wine-Searcher uses to gather together wines blended from the three classic white-wine grapes of Bordeaux: Semillon, Sauvignon Blanc and Muscadelle. In this blend, Sauvignon brings its trademark grassy aromas, while Semillon adds a touch of complexity and a waxy, honeyed note. Muscadelle, the lesser-known of the three varieties, contributes grapey aromas.
