  • Santiam Wine & Bistro February 2024 Red Cheap & Cheerful $90.90
    • 2021 Cana’s Feast Two Rivers Red Blend Oregon $16 A delicious blend of 43% Merlot, 21% Cab Franc, 17% Cabernet Sauvignon, 12 % Malbec, 7% Petite Verdot. Tasting notes: Bing cherry and herbal nuances combine with loads of blackberry and cassis, as well as a hint of olives and smoke. The mid-palate is soft and sweet on the entry, but soon gives way to a more classic style finish hinting of roasted coffee, bittersweet chocolate, and gravelly tannins.
    • 2022 Poliziano Rosso Di Montepulciano, Italy $18  Critical Acclaim JS 91 James Suckling. Youthful, brambly nose of cherries, strawberries, dried herbs, and potpourri. Crunchy and laid herbs on the palate with a pristine, firm finish. Fresh and more reductively made than most looking to emulate the “Bojo” style or Artistic Style.
    • 2020 Ben Marco Malbec, Argentina $18 Los Chacayes is an extraordinary terroir. Its sandy, rocky loam soil guarantees good permeability, limits the growth of the plant, and ensures perfect ripening. Nimble blackberries and sweet blueberries, minerals, graphite, and black chocolate on the nose. This is a beautifully poised red with a linear, medium-bodied palate. Polished and driven. Delicious now. Drink or hold. 92 Points James Suckling
    • 2021 Cantina Valle Tritana Montepulciano d’Abruzzo, Italy $15. Vinification: while the must ferments grape skins macerate for a period which lasts from 7 to 10 days according to the harvest to enhance the extraction of phenolics. Serving suggestion: this intense wine is apt for a wide variety of meals. It is also particularly suitable for pairing with traditional Abruzzo dishes, haggis (yikes, don’t look this up) meat sauces, red and white meat courses, pizza, and mature cheeses.
    • 2021 Hahn GSM CA. $14 A classic Rhône-style mix of Grenache, Syrah and Mourvèdre, this medium-bodied red offers aromas and flavors of red plum, raspberry, strawberry, fennel, and toasted wood alongside ripe, plushy tannins.
    • 2017 Secret Squirrel Cabernet Sauvignon Columbia Valley $20 A sister brand to Corliss and Tranche, one sip and you sense the kinship. To begin, 2017 is the current vintage, and after 22 months in French oak it has still more bottle age ahead of release. The packaging is clever, and the glass has the deep punt usually found in pricier wines. The wine- Delicious, dark, fragrant with coffee, black cherry, cassis, clean earth, tobacco and more. Tannins are gritty and ripe, adding length and texture. It is a full-on Bordeaux blend with Cab Franc, Merlot, and Petit Verdot in the mix. So, good its back again!

  • February 2024 White Cheap & Cheerful $89.10
    • 2022 Nuraghe Crabioni Vermentino di Sardegna DOC $21 Straw yellow color with intense aromas of sweet exotic fruit, florals, berries, and almond. A dry wine, it opens with an agreeable sensation of well-balanced freshness with a long, clean finish. Mellow but livery due to its well-balanced acidity. A classic match for fish. Ideal for dishes such as grilled prawns and sea bass. Excellent as an aperitif.
    • La Luca Prosecco Italy $17 A little bubby for your Valentine! WW 89 Wilfred Wong the LaLuca Prosecco D.O.C. is soft, enticing, and delicious. TASTING NOTES: This wine exhibits lovely aromas and flavors of ripe apple and suggestions of flowers. Enjoy it with aperitifs or simply by itself.
    • 2022 Dolcetto Roero Daivej Deltetto Italy $18 Crystal clear, with pale yellow color; fruity nose with notes of exotic fruits and crunchy red apple. Hints of floral notes. In the mouth is a fresh acidity with similar notes to the nose. Pairings Perfect as aperitivo, but at the same time very versatile. You can serve it with typical piedmontese antipasti as well as with exotic dishes.
    • 2022 Domaine De Pajot Gascogne $12 Tasting Notes: This blend of Sauvignon Blanc, Colombard, Ugni Blanc, and Gros Manseng is the epitome of Gascony. Light and fruity, fresh, and crisp, with a bright texture and refreshing acidity. This is a wine to drink easily as an aperitif or with a platter of shellfish.
    • 2021 Chateau Haut Pourjac Bordeaux Sauvignon, France$17 A blend of Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon, this is a beautiful crisp white. A bright and fruity wine, this has a ripe character, with hints of yellow fruits as well as warm acidity. An attractive tangy character gives the wine a lift. With notes of lemon zest, apricots, and orange, Bright acidity that lingers in the finish. Due to its freshness and flavor profile pairs with almost any white food: shellfish, fish of all types, oysters, clams, mussels, sushi, veal, chicken, pork.
    • 2021 Tchin Sauvignon Blanc Bordeaux $14 Organic grapes fresh with nice acidity. You will enjoy the note of summer fruit and exotic touch. A seducing wine for a great moment to share.
